Invitation: Cherni vrah peak on Vitosha mountain, Bulgaria

Ladies and Gentlemen,

On 30th of June, 2018, Bulgarian Tourist Union started a wonderful initiative entitled “Women of United Europe climb together Cherni vrah peak on Vitosha mountain”, dedicated to the First Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU and the designation of Sofia as European Capital of Sport in 2018.Dear guests then were the wife of the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria, Mrs. Genevieve Hauser, and the wife of the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy, Mrs. Antonella Rensi. Thus we symbolically handed over the Presidency to the Republic of Austria. The feedback from the participants was very good. Because of this, and because of the importance of this event, we decided to make it a tradition and an integral part of the celebration of the beginning of the organized tourist movement in Bulgaria, which is annually celebrated on the last Sunday of August with climbing the peak Cherni vrah (2290 m) on Vitosha mountain.

This year on 25th of August we will celebrate 124 years of organized tourist movement in Bulgaria. Within the ascent, there will be a separate branch “Women of the united Europe climb together Cherni vrah peak on Vitosha mountain”, which will start from Aleko hut.

As you know, one of the main topics of the First Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU was the European perspective and connectivity of the Western Balkans between them and with the member states. Bulgaria is making great efforts in this regard and in making the Balkans a good neighborly territory, and the Balkan countries – a secure and predictable EU partner.
You are welcome, let’s have a great time together and enjoy our beautiful city and nature from the crown of Sofia – Vitosha mountain! The meeting point will be on 25th of August at 9.00 a.m.at Aleko hut on Vitosha mountain. We expect you, it’s worth! Let’s share the fun, emotion and joy of this event and show that the women of the Balkans and Europe love tourism and nature and conquer peaks together!

With sincere greetings, wishes and respect,

Sofia, July 31, 2019
