Bulgarian Tourist Union presented its annual awards in the various categories during a solemn ceremony in Sofia on 14th of December. The special award for achievements in mountaineering went to the famous Bulgarian mountaineer Atanas Skatov. He is the first climber declared he is a vegan who climbed Everest. Atanas Skatov has conquered 11 summits over 8000 m high and he is the first Bulgarian climbed the Seven Summits. Mr. Petko Stoynov – the BTU national coordinator, and Mrs. Zornitsa Radonova – BTU executive secretary, gave the awards to the winners. After the official part, there was a concert of the Mountain song choir “Filip Avramov”. The audience was greeted for the coming Christmas Holidays with favorite Bulgarian mountain songs.

БТС връчи ежегодните си награди в отделните категории на тържествена церемония в София. Специалната награда за достижения в областта на алпинизма отиде при известния български алпинист Атанас Скатов. Той е първият алпинист, обявил, че е веган, покорил Еверест. Атанас Скатов е покорил 11 върха с височина над 8000 м и e първият българин, изкачил 7-те континентални първенци. След официалната част се състоя концерт на хор Планинарска песен, който поздрави присъстващите с идващите Коледни празници с букет от любими планинарски песни.
