During 2019 the Mountaineering Federation of North Macedonia (FPSM) has undertaken the task to translate the Petzl Handbook “Alpine Skills: Summer” into Macedonian language (translator: Katica Garoska Acevska). During the translation of the Handbook, the need for revision of the Meteorology section emerged. Gligor Mitkovski, aviation meteorologist from North Macedonia, in collaboration with his colleagues Jure Jerman from Slovenia and Nikolco Petrov from North Macedonia, have prepared new text for the Meteorology section that will be implemented in the new version of the Handbook.
This is a prove how UIAA can connect people from close and faraway countries in one goal, safe mountaineering.
