International BMU Photo Award
“The Soul of the Mountain”
Mission
We are delighted to announce the international photo contest “The Soul of the Mountain” for the best single exposure picture.
We call upon you all who respect and love the nature to get your cameras and, in the form of feature photography, to discover the soul of the mountain:

finding an amazing spot where mountains are rising out of the sea, lakes, canyons;

unveiling the secret beauty of the mountains;

great adventure and photographic exploration in spectacular wilderness.

Contest Rules
The contest is open to any interested photographer from Balkan countries and abroad.
Photographer can submit up to five (5) of his/her photos.
Photographer does not pay any fee for participation in this contest.
Submitting his/her photos the photographer agrees that BMU reserves the right for free reproduction and use for promotional and educational purposes – notification will be given to the photographer. Photos will have the opportunity of being included in the content of future exhibitions, promotional activities, DVDs, publications and the web site of the Balkan Mountaineering Union.
Submitting the photos, the entrants represent and warrant that they are authors as well as the authenticity of the photos.
If the Jury found out, during announcement of winners or after, that the works were not original, i.e. that entrant who sent them was not their creator, BMU will initiate the award determination and make the information available to the public.
By submitting the photos, the entrants comply with the terms and conditions described in the Contest rules.
BMU reserves the right of final interpretation of the Rules of this award contest.
- Technical requests
Photos can be in color or black-and-white.
Resolution: 300 dpi. Format: *.jpeg.
Permissible operations are:
Image cropping, and reasonable adjustment to:

contrast, exposure and brightness
-
sharpness
-
saturation

Tags, (labels) of your photo files:

It is necessary to put in the Subject of the message:

Due to the capacity of files, your photos can be sent separately or all in one email, noting that for total size of the e-mail over 10MB you may use the web site www.wetransfer.com that offers an ability to send e-mails up to 2 GB.
- Timeline
Photo Submission Deadline: October 30th, 2021
Authors will be notified of the acceptance via email immediately after receiving the attachments and photos will be published on BMU Magazine by order of acceptance.
Winners & results announced and published on BMU Magazine: end of November, 2021
- Jury
The jury decision and selection will be based on the quality and originality of submitted photos.
Jury members cannot enter the contest in the year they are judging.
The jury reserves the right not to award a prize if submitted photos do not reach the standard (quality, technical criteria – composition, contrast, sharpness) or fail to cover the topic specified.
Judging of the International BMU Photo Award will be done by the
Jury of 5 (five) independent members of different countries
The jury’s decision is final.
